Probability and Robot Movie

A few weeks ago, the students constructed a robot on the math room floor using the math skills of coordinate points and transformations. Upon seeing the final product, Mrs. Bureau recommended three of her students: Kelly Holland, Kristy Verrill, and Haley White from another team, create a stopmotion movie while removing the tape and then reversing the sequence. Click on the link to view the short movie of the the student's work.

Proportional Reasoning -- Penny
We have a few more penny squares that need to be finished before I share the final product. Stay tuned to future blog posts.

Notes for Probability:

Go to the "Spinner" and play around with change the chances for probability. Investigate "fair" spinners and "unfair" spinners. Can you name situations that are fair or unfair? How many trials must you need to run in order to get reliable event results? Did your experimental results reach the target theoretical results? Any possible explanation as to why it did or did not match?
